Students in Ms. Colston's class worked with a Thanksgiving passage about the history of pumpkin pie. After reading the passage, Ms. Colston cut a slice for each student to taste. They then completed a poll, and a word cloud technology lesson as a reflection. Finally, students watched a video posted in their Schoology course. Afterwards, each student answered two discussion questions for closure.

Spencer-Westlawn’s resource teacher, Ms. Givens, applied for and received the Alabama Foundation Grant in the amount of $1,000 to purchase grade level books, math resources, and phonics puzzles. These items will enhance student engagement and pique interest in learning more about math and reading during small group time in the Resource Room. Outstanding job! #TransformersStrongerTogether
