Mrs. Angelia Battiste, our dedicated first-grade teacher at Spencer-Westlawn Elementary School, has been named the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year. With eight years of experience in education, she exemplifies commitment and excellence in teaching. As a LETRS Certified Educator, Mrs. Battiste utilizes her expertise to enhance literacy instruction in her classroom. A proud Native Mobilian and a graduate of B.C. Rain High Schoo, she pursued her higher education at the University of Mobile, where she earned her degrees. Mrs. Battiste passionately shares, "I became a teacher to give back to the community by investing in and inspiring our young to reach for the stars because they are our future leaders of America. " Her dedication to nurturing and empowering the next generation truly makes her deserving of this prestigious recognition.
